Rural Culture on the Edge Evergreen Meadows. by Evergreen Mills Road2

Comments:  Rural meets urban. The County’s population was relatively stable at about 20,000 for two centuries up to the early 1960s. Since then, its population has grown over tenfold mainly driven by Dulles International Airport, rapid growth of the Washington D.C. area and major road improvements. Many believe that Loudoun today offers a rich balance between a robust urban environment and a precious rural culture of benefit to all residents. But, with the population projected to nearly double once more by 2030 with an added 200,000 residents, can it be maintained?
