Rural Culture on the Edge Maple Tree. Oatlands Historic District3

Comments:  Found in the unspoiled view-shed of Oatlands Plantation along Route 15 of The Journey Through Hallowed Ground, this tree forms part of the extensive green expanse designated in 1972 by Loudoun County as the Oatlands Historic District. It also includes the Episcopal Church of Our Savior and the Mountain Gap School, the County's last operating one-room school. Most of the property in the Historic District is protected by preservation easements or is owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
